We get to The Greenways at 3:40 for the spelling bee at 3:45. Jake is ready to go. Around 4:00 we start a practice round with 58 kids! 5:45 we leave with our runner up who is moving on to the county bee. He was less than thrilled. I don't know if you can see the pain in his eyes, but it is there. It was long and hot. He wore his hoodie during the bee and didn't take it off until he was sitting with us and that is when we noticed- his zipper was undone. Oh, my child! Thankfully, the hoodie concealed that while he was on the stage. He did a great job especially since he never practiced and refused to study. We are very proud of him, but we would still be proud had he been the 1st one out (that has actually happened!). Goode luk in te cowntee spilleeng bea!!!
